christmas was a whirlwind

Hi
So in a whirlwind of activity Christmas has been and gone! That went so fast.
I hope you had an amazing time with your friends and families.

Today I would love to share with you one of my Christmas cards.

I have made a few versions of this to give to family and friends so I have kept
the card relatively simple as the topic colouring was time consuming.

Don't forget to stop in at Bizzy Becs as you still have a couple of days to join our anything goes challenge.

Joy To The World

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Louise here to share some Christmas Love
Today is the day of celebrating Christmas with your families and loved ones and it is really one of my most favourite days of the year.

The BBQ, the ham, the pool, Love Actually.
It really is the BEST day.

I am here to share the Christmas love with 2 cards made with the Penny Black stamp set, Joy to the world.

This first card feature the gorgeous little hedgie that comes in so many of the Penny Black sets, and  I just love him.  He is coloured up with alcohol markers.

My second card uses the Santa and reindeer images from the set.
I have added hills using Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn

Thanks loads for joining me today - I will let you get back to enjoying your Christmas day.

Wedding Card

Who doesn't love a wedding?

My friend had two granddaughters getting married within weeks of each other
and she wanted hand made cards for them.
This is one of them:

You can't see it in the photo but I had bought a beautiful pearl embossed
cream card stock so I kept it reasonably plain.

Sue Wilson - Shadow Boxes - Mr & Mrs
Frantic Stamper Die - With this Kiss Couple
(I cut three colours out and joined them accordingly)
The flowers were:
Heartfelt Creations - Arianna Blooms
(with pearls in centre)
Cheery Lynn - Baby's Breath
Cheery Lynn - Flourish Leaf Strip
Added a little bit of cream and gold trim ribbon.
Inside I did a 3d heart with gold embossed words:
(Forgot to take a photo of inside)

Happy Crafting everyone.  Don't forget your entry for this month's anything goes.

Have a Happy Holy Christmas

Masking with Darkroom Door Gum Trees Stamp Set

Hi everyone, Shaz here.
it's time again for my mid-month post on Bizzy Bec's Design team, and today I'm revisiting a great stamp set from Darkroom Door - Gum Trees.
I love this set it has two great tree stamps - used both of them over on this post here.
So today I am using different style - previous one was a brayered scene, and this is ink duster scene, with larger of tree simply embossed in front of a masked scene.
On right is the first one I did, but I stamped the "Remember your roots" slightly crooked by 2mm or so (card for family not living in Oz). I cant handle crooked. So started again!
Mask with paper and repositonable tape - two masked pieces top and bottom (on the second one I stamped the tree first, but decided it looks better stamped afterwards, just looks stamped fresher).
I always lay down a base layer of ink when doing any sort of inking whether blending or brayer work - use neutral shade like Distress Ink - Antique linen here.
TIP:
I
f you lay a base layer, the following layers blend more smoothly.
Brushed on ink, however you can use blending tool too. Used some Memento Bahama Blue, Grape seed.
Then added some hills, with a torn piece of scrap paper to give rough shape of hill and inked this up twice with archival Black ink. Stamped the trees and text in Versafine Black Onyx, my favourite black ink and clear embossed.
So here are the two cards, didn't waste the first one, I merely covered the offending crooked sentiment with a free digi. Die cut it with Memory Box Pinpoint circles, and the Spellbinders scallop circles, love how them MB dies fit the SB circle dies.
I really loved these cards, the Darkroom door stamps were so great to stamp with.
The "Remember your roots " word stamp is part of the
Darkroom Door Gum Trees set.

Thanks so much everyone for popping over and saying hi!
...and dont forget to pop over and join in Bec's Anything Goes December challenge .. you might win the prize :D

Merry Christmas To EWE

Hi Lou here to wish a very merry Christmas :)
I hope you are having a lovely day with your families and for those of you in Oz and NZ, I hope your BBQs are hot and the weather warm.

When I saw this Baah Humbug Christmas stamp and dies set I knew they would be perfect for sending out this years Christmas Salutations.

I stamped the images with alcohol marker friendly ink then die cut with the corresponding dies.
Once they were cut I coloured them and glued them down.
The sheep is adhered with foam tape to add dimension.

I added the bakers twine and drew lines around the white mat to finish the card.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a fabulous Christmas Day.

Hi all,
Christmas is just around the corner.  Almost time to have all those
Christmas cards made and ready to post.

There's something especially cute about Holly with Reindeer from
Bizzy Bec's Christmas Collection of Digi Stamps.
You may have noticed sometimes I like to create scenes.
The background Embosser is a  Cuttlebug - Snowflakes
PoppyStamps - Curbside Mailboxes
Cheery Lynn - Victorian Picket Fence
Impression Obsession - Snowflakes
CottageCutz Elites Die - Merry Christmas (resized a little)
Digi Stamp image was coloured with Copics and Gel Pens and fussy cut .
The white around Holly's outfit is done with Stampendous - Fuzzy Fun Flock

Have a great weekend.

Layering dies - Memory Box Glowing Candles Die

Hi again everyone - Shaz here, with another tutorial!
This time on layering dies. You can find more details on my blog here.
I bought this die  some time ago - Memory Box Glowing Candles (available Bec has it at a really great price over here!). Saw a great card with it - here, and this one has a video if you want to watch it!

Cut three different shades of cardstock, gold, red and green. Added double sided tape on the back of card first.
Remove the tape layers with pricking tool, remove the die pieces you want in other colours on the top - gold layer first, as shown.
Added red to candles centres and centre of the flame which is also red.
Removed the gold leaves, adding the green on top.
Cut the top two colours of red and gold stems off the edges. Under the layers, adhere the green so it shows green stems. Add red bling for holly berries.
Stamp is from Our Daily Bread "Joy to the world" stamp set (ODB stamps are available from Bizzy Bec's upon request). Gold embossed, added die cut centre from Spellbinder, inked lightly around edge in gold.
Spellbinder die, I bought from Bec, is cut in gold - 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy, a gorgeous die and great size.
Thanks so much everyone for popping over and saying hi, hope you enjoyed this card, as much as I did! Think might try another colour-way!!
May God bless your day,
Shaz in Oz.x

Make a Wish....

Hi everyone Karen here, I am  popping in today to share with you my latest card.

For this card I wanted an oceany feel to compliment my image.  I die cut a circle through the two top layers  using a die from Lawn Fawn - Large Stitched Circles, then die cut two circles with a Memory Box Die - Shaker Circles (not currently listed in store), these were then nestled inside the circle to create the illusion of a Porthole.  I then attached small pearls around the centre.

For my image I have used a stamp from My Besties called Steampunk Mermaid Dreams (not currently listed in store), which is so cute and have coloured her with Copic Markers.
I have inked part of the background which was stencilled  and then coloured with Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough and Salty Ocean (not currently listed in store).  I have also used Frantage Shabby Blue embossing enamel for some of the background stamping, together with Momento London Fog for other stamping.

The sentiment is a die from Penny Black and is called Celebrations.

Please if you see something you like and it is not currently listed in store, pop an email to Bec and if it is possible she can get it into store for you.

Thanks for looking, have a fabulous week.

Happy Crafting

Karen
